19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in specific - led to him dropping out of the top ten and eventually separating with long-term mentor Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's first trophy since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since spring of 2023.
Victory also means the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six title deciders, comprising in Halle in the past months.
His retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had caused some to question if his capacity to perform at the highest level was over.
But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the last five games to go ahead.
Both players swapped breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a final set.
The opponent defended 4 early-game chances in a competitive final set before the Russian broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
