I will dominate 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really happening.
